Swimming Platform
This Kelt obviously has a extended back side, giving a nice swimming platform. A closer look reveils that the rudder has been changed dramatically. It seems to be moved below the extension. It would be nice to see how this rudder was made.
Wheel Installation
Found some pictures from a wheel-install on the boat, replacing the standard tiller. I've read about an Edson system and it's connected to the rudder via a single push/pull cable ("pull-pull conduit"). A single cable/conduit runs beneath the deck, into the port storage area, to a mechanism in the transom which attaches to the rudder via a rod. The pedestal has forward/reverse and throttle. Some more pictures of another boat having this modification:
Washboard stips
Not sure if the Kelt's built after 1984 had this improvement, but this Kelt has the wooden washboard strips replaced with RVS metal plates. My wooden ones are quite weathered so would need to be replaced and this is a nice option. As far as I can see they are mounted the same way with rivets.
Additional Window
For some more cooling or releasing the steam of the cooking area below, here an additional window has been placed in the existing window. Nice idea!
Plexiglass Washboard
The multiplex washboard's need a lot of care to keep them in good shape. I've replaced them already with new ones, but after 4 years they are clearly not that nice looking anymore. Here the washboard is replaced with brown shaded acrylic, that seems to give enough privacy, but give's also quite some light into the cabin.
